Gemview v3.0 Upwards
After lengthy correspondence with Dieter Fiebelkorn, author of GEM-
View, Floppyshop have secured permission to supply the unregistered
versions of the new modular GEM-View. Many thanks to Charles Edwards
for acting as mediator and interpreter throughout. This version of
GEM-View has a restriction of thirty days' use and becomes less
functional on expiry of the thirty day evaluation period. I would
encourage everyone who uses GEM-View to register with the author. For
your convenience, British users can register by sending £18 to Graeme
Rutt, who holds the registration numbers for UK users. His details are
held in the file GEMVIEW3.TXT which is inside the DOCUMENTS folder
which will be created when you run the INSTALL.PRG.
If you have a hard drive, copy all files to the same directory and run
the installation program. If you are installing onto floppies, you will
need quite a few of them. I recommend that you unpack to Drive B. If
you only have one drive, still select B as the destination drive and
you will be prompted to change disks when appropriate. Treat the GEM-
View disk as Disk A and your blank disk(s) as Disk B. Each time the
INSTALL program finishes unpacking an archive (whether to hard drive or
floppy, you must click Pfad (German for directory) and set the
destination path again (otherwise it will unpack to the drive you ran
the INSTALL program from) to unpack the next archive. The program will
return to Desktop once all files have been installed.

PD LIBRARIES PLEASE NOTE: The documentation supplied with GEM-View
states that PD Libraries are not permitted to supply the package from
v3.00 upwards. Floppyshop have been granted special permission from
Dieter Fiebelkorn and are the only library permitted to supply the
unregistered versions of GEM-View v3.00 and above in the U.K. Including
this package in your collection would be a direct violation of the
author's terms and conditions of distribution and therefore constitute a
breach of his copyright. We therefore respectfully request than any
versions of GEM-View from v3.00 upwards be removed from your collection.
Versions of GEM-View prior to v3.00 have no such restrictions and may be
freely distributed. The restrictions placed on the distribution of GEM-
View 3 are nothing to do with Floppyshop, we were merely fortunate
enough to manage to obtain the UK distribution rights to the package.
Please note that these restrictions do not apply to BBS Sysops who are
free to include the latest versions of the package on their boards.
